Dick Brown signed W4VN/5 and subsequently W5AA from Canton and Jackson, 
MS, and later from Pensacola, FL.

Unfortunately, he became a silent key about two years ago. His widow, Jo 
Ann, is N5FBW and might have his logs.

I spoke to Dick many times on the air, and heard him talk of travels in 
the far east and to Costa Rica many times, but never heard mention of 
Navassa. I suspect that you worked Mississippi. He was a fascinating 
character, a veterinarian who had spent some time working for NASA in 
its early days. One of the first chimps in space was named "Ham" after 
his doctor's favorite hobby.
