Not one, not two, but three big fat envelopes came from the bureau today. A very welcome sight after a rotten day of work... I really hate mason's (mortar) mix when the bag breaks open and 70 pounds of it drops in your lap -- twice ...

Many, many cards, many very notable ones, but one call stands out for special recognition:

UA2BD Kalingradsk (80 meters CW).

I gave up on this one years ago. Several direct requests went unanswered, via bureau requests may still be working their way overseas... even the reliable sources for ex-USSR calls came up bupkus. I know of many others who also considered this one a black hole and strongly advised me to just work another UA2 station. So when I was sorting through the cards and suddenly found BOTH of my QSO's confirmed... my jaw dropped. Les WF5E, I don't know how you did it. I don't know what strings you pulled, what magic you performed, or if it was just plain luck that your envelope(s) got through, but whatever you did, THANK YOU! (Had these envelopes just come a few weeks sooner, I would have definitely bought YOU your beverage of choice at the NJDXA Hospitality Suite, so I owe you one next year!)

As for the rest, amongst many others these notables:

3B9C via 5SDXA
3ZØPW via DL3KDC
6F1LM via XE1J (bureau requests only)
8N1OGA via JARL (forwarded via WF5E)
DFØHQ via DL5AXX
FK8VHY via F8CMT
GI5W via UT5UDX/MØSDX (forwarded via WF5E)
HQ3J via JA6VU (forwarded via WF5E)
LX7I via LX2AJ
M5X via G3KKQ
R1ANF South Shetlands via RK1PWA
TO2FG via F6HMJ (forwarded via WF5E)
UA9MAZ

A whole big fat bunch of gorgeous cards. A lot of familiar calls too (especially among the managers). I get a kick of of the DFØHQ card... I still have their old Y34K cards in the box, it is neat to see how things have changed for them over the years!
