Dear Bill, W9OL and dx-qsl members:
Please tell me what sort of phishing scheme is possible by using your
LoTW submission activity data known to the entity who verifies his/her
QSOs with the data you upload. (Can you define the word "phishing"
also; I know it as a fraudulent activity online in general by using
false URLs or resource pointers on Internet, but I couldn't figure out
how it would be applicable on the QSLing activities.)
Unless revealing the raw account name or IDs or whatever directly
related to the LoTW system, I don't foresee a possibility of phishing or
any sort of fraudulent QSO verification activities performed on LoTW.
BTW LoTW is very slow as of 15Z 5-FEB-2005 (tonight 6-FEB-2006 JST in
Japan) - some massive activities ongoing maybe (hope they're not DoS
attacks).
