To all FYI:

Please read below e-mail received today from Daniel, PT7BI. It is self
explanatory but for those USA hams who think that sending registered
airmail overseas will guarantee it will be delivered be forewarned. This
is a first for me. I also have a GPM (Global priority) envelop which is
also a tracked type document sent to PT7BI in July 2004 which Daniel says
he never received. I have asked Daniel to take the pilfered envelope to
his local post office with the hopes that maybe the Brazilian postal
authorities will try to trace what happened.

When I called my postal inspector/claims section they seemed not too
concerned/interested and told me to pick up Form 542 from any post office
fill it out along with any documentation and send it to address on the
form. It is so comforting to know that no one in the USPS seems to give a
damn or concern even when it comes to accountability of pilfered
registered mail. 73 Al w3awu
