[Dx-qsl] AA1IH whereabouts ?

I am trying to acquire a card from AA1IH for a NA-148 IOTA dxpedition 
he put on to send to RZ3EC.  I found one website that says this call 
will be up for grabs as a vanity call in a month. This tells me he 
must not hold that call any more.

Anybody know of Charles Hershey's whereabouts ?? Is he a SK or just 
gave up on ham radio ?

Or better yet, anybody know how to get a confirmation for this operation ?
