Ron.
What you mean by free ?.
Free not exist, somebody have to pay for it. To speak we have also a free
qsl bureau, can sent and receive so many we like.
Of course it is like in the Netherlands and Japan and others with similar
system, you have to be a member of the national society ( IARU) here it is
UBA. Cost is for 2004 normal member 42. euro ( 40$) and for second member of
the family 23 euro ( 20$) so we pay here 42+23 ( my xyl, ON4QP ) 75 euro.
This is not so free, hi.. ( would you like to be a member here it cost you
45 euro )
In the Membership fee, one of the fevers, the qsl-service., the rest for
what the fee is needed we are not counting, hi, so long the qsl-service is
working
Each month at the club meeting our local qsl-manger collect our qsl's. After
sorting by country the are packed and send to our national qsl bureau, and
each month all local clubs( about 90 in ON) receive from the national bureau
a box of qsl's who are distributed at the monthly club meeting ( no
envelopes ), I know the situation very well we had the national qsl's bureau
here for 11 years, and been still the qsl manager of our local club.
I believe if all radioamateur in there own country would pay for the
national society the fee have not to be so high. This is a other discussion,
hi.
Greetings
Mat
