Stu get serious....... I am trying to do just that on Social Security with
very little luck.... No problem I gave up on trying to get QSL cards from US
stations.

I see comments like this from time to time. Four years ago, while laid up
with a broken leg, I decided to try to get caught up with 5BWAS. I sent out
about 200 cards with SASE, and I think I got about an 85 % success rate over
the course of about a year, much higher than others have reported. I'm not
sure why I had better results ! QSLing isn't dead yet ! I now have 295
confirmed for 6BWAS.
BTW, I answer all cards direct if they arrive direct, regardless whether
there's an SASE, and I do this on a social worker's salary. It's the right
thing to do, and it encourages growth of the hobby. Most of the time the
reason they didn't send postage was ignorance, not arrogance. Do you refuse
to send Christmas cards unless you get a SASE ?!
