I wonder if he could be using the old Mosley Tri-bander we had at the
Coast Guard LORAN station. The LORAN station had a MARS/Ham set up
using a KWM-2A and a Mosley Tri-bander. I used to operate from all
the Pacific and Asia LORAN stations when we flew our C-130 to them.
This was during the period when they were replacing the guy wires on
the 600 ft antennas. We would pick up a construction crew in Tokyo,
fly them to a LORAN Sta, pick them up a month later, take them back to
Tokyo for awhile then off to another LORAN Sta. This was in addition
to our regular supply runs.
