And to add to Joe's comment, let me explain how I process Buro cards. Firstly, I've not seen many from the 2004 contest season as of now, but my buddies in the 9-land bureau graciously send them to me in LARGE packages, to save me money on the incoming....thus, it takes a while to get incoming bureau cards to me. That is, I don't get a monthly delivery.
Then, it takes me some time to process bureau cards. They go to the bottom of the pile. As I've stated before, it's something like 7 cents or so on the best day to 'reply' to a bureau card, so while I do it, it's not my favorite thing to do. I try to make it as efficient as possible.
To save money, I bulk mail to individual bureaus, or combine with other managers. Thus, after I get to the process of printing the QSOs, it still takes a while to get into the mail system.
I'd guess the MINIMUM time for a bureau response for a card, in my case, is 2 years...from the time you mail it to your bureau to come to me. Sometimes faster, often slower.......sorry, but when you get bureau cards in the quantity I do, and with the cost to reply, I do it as efficiently as I can.
The bureau works, but it is SLOW. LOTW, direct, etc are much more efficient methods.
