I had sent two direct requests with IRCs to Bob's address in Pakistan
without receiving a response. I met Bob again on 17M and asked him
about the QSLs. He gave me his email address and below is part of his
answer. Contrary to a previous posting, Bob advises the use IRCs.
Bob at one time had a stateside QSL manager. I still wonder why he
wants direct with all of his postal problems.
"Thanks for Msg. Pleasure meeting U again! On checking LOG, found U
but it seems I had NOT received ur QSLs sent with IRCs!
I have had trouble with QSLs sent with $ as such QSLs are intercepted
by Postal Thieves who not only pocket the enclosed $ but also destroy
the QSL-Card & as I am NOT aware of the Theft (& do NOT receive the Card),
I am not in position to send Return-QSL!! I always advise Hams to send
only IRCs for this reason! Usually, QSLs with IRC reach us intact as IRCs
are NOT of use to the Thieves who could be caught while exchanging IRCs
at Main Post Office only!! Anyway, as U had already sent QSLs with IRCs
(which I did NOT receive), I am sending U QSLs direct via Address given
in qrz.com!! Please send Msg whenever U receive QSLs!!"
Best wishes, Bob.(AP2JZB).
