You are right about the JA's. From about 1000Z on, there were at least
6-7 up for grabs from here. I worked 4. I still don't have it confirmed,
but am likely to this time around. I even worked a JT on Sunday AM. I
have nothing but Pacific Ocean between here and there. Africa is a
different story. I barely worked the Europa station (TO4E) and was on
every day over many hours with ESP or non copy. All but the last 6 all
time new ones I need on DXCC are done through the bureau which has about
a 25% return. If I llive long enough, I will get 5BDXCC.

I have been doing this since 1958 and things have changed a lot. My log
goes back to 1960. Almost all QSLing was done through the bureau back
then, and everybody did it. It worked. Now it is a rich mans quest.
Multiple green stamps or IRC's now, and sometimes even they don't work as
your have learned. The problem is that once people start sending those
kind of bucks, it kind of becomes expected if you want a card. Hang in
there. It is the still the greatest hobby out there for me and keeps me
active and plugged in now that I am retired. I enjoy your email site and
thanks for doing it. The only station I worked in the contest that I
can't find information on is the TV8K.

W3HNK's help is very good on anything Russian. However, the EZ7ST card he
got me through EZ7ST's QSL manager (that is a good friend of Joe's) just
got rejected by DXCC as Pirate. We are still working on that one.
