it got me curious (and just to check me own aging memory), so i  went and 
took a look at the WPX rules.  darn i'm good!!
 
it's covered in the rules under paragraphs c & d.  if a  portable designator 
is used without a number a zero is assumed.  also,  calls without a number are 
also considered '0s'.  example is the famous  RAEM (ernst krenkel's call and 
now a memorial).  it would count for  RA0.
 
i guess not ALL the brain cells are dead  yet.          
 
and if anyone needs the rare KZ2 prefix, just let me  know.
