Hi All,

I checked with the DX Summit and ZP1A was reported only once and that by a
Russian. ZP6CW was reported several times. The area around Asuncion, the
capitol, is ZP5, to the east it is ZP6. Many times visiting contesters use
ZP0, such as ZP0Y. All that being said, ZP1AA is a call assigned to the
Radio Club Paraguayo with QSL to ZP5AA.

Is it possible the second A was missed, or maybe the club decided to use a
shortened call for the contest. The ZP1 area is to the west of Asuncion,
across the Paraguay river in the area known as the Chaco. Several German
imigrant colonies exist out there, Filidelphia being the largest. The club
might have gone out there for a contest expedition.

I suggest you QSL to the Radio Club Paraguayo in Assuncion with an SAE and
IRCs or $$. If it's a valid call, you'll get a QSL. GL.

73 es DX,

Harry, ex-ZP5HZ
