[Dx-qsl] RE: 9N1MM Mgr.

My QSL from Fr. Moran was sent by W3KVQ. The QSO was 17 March 1969, 20 SSB.
I had been an altar boy in The Bronx so I'm sure that helped me get the
card!

My 9N1MM card from 1982 shows N7EB as the QSL manager.

QRZ DX shows:

Yup. For years it was N7EB.

I *think* he's an SK now too.

It was N7EB and he passed away Jan. 19, 1997. Not sure if someone took
over the duties or not but GL.

As the population gets older (i know i ain't no spring chicken no more), i
think it's important that those of us who take on the responsibility of
being
a manager think ahead to THAT DAY. if you're blessed with an xyl like mine,
they would probably appreciate some advance planning, in case something
happens, that would provide some sort of contact to take over or at least
secure the logs/qsls/etc. if you don't have a local dxer or club available,
there are many others like N2OO, KU9C, W3HNK, myself or maybe even the ARRL
DX desk that would be glad to assist not only the xyl but the stations being
managed. AND if you hear of a manager that has become a silent key,
volunteer your services, if only to secure the logs and provide some
continuity.

lot of bandwidth on a morbid subject. but think about it.

Father Moran's stateside manager died and the logs were destroyed by his
surviving girlfriend. Hams in his home town visited and were told that.
There are no logs in Kathmandu that I can find.
