Dear DXers, here is a great opportunty to help a fellow Ham,
DXer, and his family. Ron, at his expense, has given us all
many new ones. I think this message needs to have the widest
dissemenation. At the risk of expulsion from [DX-Chat], I am
cross-posting this message. If you belong to more than one of
the above lists and get this message twice, please bear with me
as the need is great here. [DX-Chat] Administrator, Ron, I am
at your mercy on this one. Larry K4WLS

Dear Larry:

I am writing to you this evening because you have expressed support and
concern for Ron and his family.

Because Ron does not have medical insurance and the family is especially
concerned about meeting the cost of the air ambulance that evacuated Ron
from Fiji to Auckland, INDEXA has established the "ZL1AMO Air Ambulance
Fund." In NZD, the air evac plane cost $40,000. When we checked the
exchange rate today, the amount translated to approximately $20,000 USD.

For those who would like to make a contribution, they can make checks out to
INDEXA with a note at the bottom that the check is for the "ZL1AMO Air
Ambulance Fund." The checks may be sent to:

ZL1AMO Air Ambulance Fund
c/o Bill Jennings, W4UNP
Secretary-Treasurer, INDEXA
P. O. Box 607
Rock Hill, SC 29731

Contributions to this fund are not tax deductible.

We realize that not everyone can afford to make a monetary contribution but
we hope that everyone will be able to support Ron and the family with their
e-mails and, most important, their prayers!

Thanks for your concern. I will continue to keep you updated as new
information arrives.

73,
Judy, AA7UC
