Hi Osten
I have info on VU4GDG. It was a DXpedition organized by the Coimbatore
Amateur Radio Club and took place between 5th and 26th october 1987. They
operated 160-80-40-20-15-10 meters, on SSB, CW and RTTY. On the air, the
stations used to transmit VU4GDG/<suffix-of-the-call-of-the-operator>, i.e.
"CQ de VU4GDG/TS", but the QSL cards only showed VU4GDG. I guess that was
just for their log organization purposes.

The operators were:
VU2GDG Gopal
VU2CE Chandra (GDG's xyl)
VU2DVP Vidi
VU2CVP Chitra (DVP's xyl)
VU2APE Kumar
VU2DQP Sarathy
VU2TS Ganesh
VU2JX JS

The QSL information was VU2GDG. I DO NOT know about any current address,
but in 1987 his address in the Callbook was: G. D. Gopal, 233 Gopal Bagh,
Avanashi Rd, Coimbatore 641018, India. Nevertheless, the QSL card had the
following address printed: "Box 3733, Coimbatore, India".

I was lucky enough to work them on SSB on 80/40/20/15/10 meters, and on CW
on 40/20/15 meters. I sent my request, including S.A.E. and donation, by
airmail on 31-october-1987 to the CBA and got it back, with all QSOs
confirmed, on 18-march-1988. The S.A.E. was postmarked 10-march-1988,
Coimbatore.
