You want to come over here!
Anyone in Europe like to give a commentary on the operating
tactics of "certain Southern European countries"? >>

I dont know Tony, im listening to the circus of US ops on 15 right now...its
like a grade school cafeteria food fight...one guy actually said "what kind
of A hole whistles on the transmit frequency?" ...he said this on the
transmit frequency.
Im not even going to attempt a qso with this poor op because of the bar
fight....oh cool, now a guy is tuning up....and another asking where he
is....all this while im writing...there are about 20 guys on the transmit
freq complaining about the op, they pounce if the op takes a breath for about
20 seconds....all in the comfort of their shacks, with a cold beer in hand, a
game on the telly, and a framed roof over their heads....meanwhile, the Ducie
op is probably in a tent resting his feet on a rock, tired and sitting on a
box while taking all this garbage.
If these morons could even get OUT of their comfy office chairs and walk to
the corner store, instead of drive, they wouldnt even scrape the surface of
what it takes to put on a dxpedition. i will give the benefit of the
doubt...for every one of these kids playing ego-stroke, there are probably
200 other ops sitting there patiently awaiting the VP6 to return. but nobody
ever hears about them.
Hams were considered the scourge of the airwaves back in the early 1900's,
they acted like militant jerks, transmitting on anything that was
audible...it wasnt until rules and full prefixes were put in place that some
of it came under control. most followed the rules as good sportsman...but
others acted as if nothing changed. to this day it remains the same...i guess
its just something todays hams, and generations of hams before us, have had
to put up with and will continue to put up with for the next generation of
hams.
I will follow the rules, follow the DX ops instructions, qsl accordingly and
excersize patience in the face of mounting frustration...its all i can do.
the good ops will get through and get the new one.
Ok, hes back...and so are the cops and lids....wow, they are back in the
battle...so am i, but only about 15 KC's up, lol.....73 all and good luck
with this monstrosity.
