Thanks Gary (& everyone else),

Alan K4AVQ / P40AV sent me the link to the Aruba ARC's P4 Callbook --
www.qsl.net/aarc/w_callbook.htm, if you're interested -- and it shows most
of the P4 assignments through 2001 and some early 2002.

Unfortunately, it doesn't show who held P40P in the ARRL DX Phone. And also
unfortunately, I now need to track down who was P40A during the same
contest, it wasn't him (so much for Pathfinder et al -- not their fault, of
course!)

Now you'd think that whomever held those two calls would want it known
somewhere, wouldn't they? (I may have to see if they posted scores to 3830
for a clue...) Even if they didn't want cards?

Anyway, for those who are interested, P4 calls are currently allocated as
follows:
P41 are special calls for residents, good one month;
P43 are resident permanent calls, renewable annually;
P49 are visitor permanent calls, renewable annually -- that explains why
AI6V was P40V but is now P49V;
and P40 are Visitor Temporary calls, valid for one month.

My logs show other prefixes back in the 80's, P42, P44 and P46 to name
three, but I believe that these were issued when the prefix block was still
assigned to the Netherlands Antilles, prior to it be allocated exclusively
to Aruba.
