Steve I have the same problems and am using aol 5.0

In their message boards I found an 8 step procedure outlining the various
troubleshooting steps that are recommended when web sites fail to load
properly. It further stated there to work from the top to the bottom and
test your browser functionally before moving on to the next step. I forgot
just where I got this 8 step procedure but will give you the titles and i
used all of them except # 8. I believe this is a way aol is encouraging us
to upgrade to 7.0.
1. The problem could be temporary
2. Purge your browsers cache
3 Verify parental controls are not set.
4.verify that aol adapters are installed (windows 95 ,98, 98se, and me only
5. remove the aol adapter
6. Make sure the Microsoft internet explorer (MSIE) is set as your default
browser
7.check your browser settings (go to aol keyword Browser to find out which
version you have installed.I found out that I had 4.01 and they suggested get
the latest version eg 5.0, 5.01 or 5.50.
8. Verify the correct Winsock.dll and wsock32.dll files are installed.

I decided to just get a cdrom for aol 7.0 and install that thus I wouldn't (I
believe) have to wait for an online download of a later version of the
browser. I haven't got the cdrom yet. I think the problem lays with aol and
not me or my computer. I can download other logs so the problem may lie with
the PA boys-I don't know. further I can't find the url I got this from but
it is in aol's troubleshooting area and I think you can find it quickly.

Hope this helps and my computerese is limited so I performed most of the
above 8 steps except for the last one. It is either stay with aol 5.0 or go
for the aol 7.0. I may just suffer along without the logs hi hi. Damn aol
anyway!!
