1. Possession of US dollars except by tourists is a criminal offence in Laos.

2. If the postal workers steal them, it is a short ride on the back of a 
truck
    to the Thai border. Once across, they can be exchanged for Thai baht, 
which are legal in Laos.

3. If the postal workers don't steal them, Hiroo gets into trouble and it 
will cost him even more bucks, er I mean Thai baht, to keep his licence.

4. If a postal worker nicks an envelope looking for greenbacks and finds IRCs 
instead,
what's he gonna do? Put em back and say he's sorry?

5. There are operations every so often from the XW8KPL club station. Always
       foreign ops who do their own QSL'ing.

6. Stop crying over QSL cards. It may be frustrating, but take a trip to
       Vientiane and realise how lucky you are.
