Don't know about sending direct to Roman, but I sent all my cards,
both SSB and CW, with a GS contribution to VE3EXY, who plans to hand
all the cards and contributions received by 20 June directly to
Hrane, YT1AD, who will carry them across the pond.

I separated my cards by mode, with two different return envelopes and
put them all in an envelope with the contribution and sent it to
VE3EXY. It seemed a much more reliable way to ensure delivery.
