Bob,

personal checks work well with stateside managers, and I think Garth had a deal where he could take US checks, but sending to foreign addresses is a bit difficult for some to cash.

If you do make out a check, make it out to the manager, not something like XXX DXpedition...makes it easier to cash.

I guess I'd not worry about the status too much yet. Garth has a heckuva job in front of him. I've got a similar mess with PW0T, and it's a full time job right now. A lot of folks have been getting testy with managers lately, but I don't see anyone stepping up to working as much as we do on QSL cards, managing a job and personal life on top of it. It takes time...I'm pushing out about 200-300 envelopes a day.....just think of that task!

On your check using to measure arrival...one word of caution. I just opened an envelope today with a check that was sent in May...so the fact it doesn't get cashed immediately shouldn't always cause concern. PLEASE DON'T rush to put a stop payment on it..else your check will turn into a 'deficit' for the DXpedition with the bank charges nowadays.
