There are no valid reasons to QSL SWL Reports.
There are no valid reasons to QSL contact QSLs.
But acquisitiveness, that is, collecting things, is a human trait.
The great majority of operators, who are probably not subscribers to
this reflector, who collect QSL cards do not collect for awards, but
collect the cards because they like them.
Once it was cigarette cards.
Once it was postage stamps.
Today it is telephone cards. A bit more modern.
Amateur Radio is a hobby.
With the internet, we don't need it.
If you want a point in a contest, I will give you one.
If you want to go to North Korea, I will give you a QSO.
What are we trying to prove?
Amateur Radio is a hobby that brings people together.
QSL cards are part of it.
I like QSLs - so give me one.
SWL's get the same enjoyment.
They are one of us.
Do we need a reason to be nice to people?
We are all a little bit mad, after all.
