Subject: [Dx-qsl] Postage Hikes
As expected, Argentina has increased their postage rates. The new rates
are from 1.25 to 1.75 Peso for the US, and from 1.50 to 2.25 Peso for
Europe. The Argentina Peso has fell dramatically against the US dollar.
Last year the dollar and peso were an even match. Today, 26/1/02, the US
$ = 1.75 Peso, which is exactly what it costs for airmail to the US.
BUT, that's today. Tomorrow may be different.
Mexico has doubled their rates for the US & Europe, but 1 USD is still
enough. (If exchange fees don't offset) Uruguay, which seems to be the
highest postage in the world, should exceed the 2 USD mark in about 3
years, if they continue their increases at the same rate.
All this, and more has been updated at (Foreign Postage Rates) at
k4hb.com. Anyone who sends DX stamps or USDs may want to check to be
sure they are sending sufficient postage.
