[Dx-qsl] VP8THU OPERATION

CW on all bands was a fiasco. The so called "police" were lids. Heard more
UP's than VP8THU. Every time I made a call for VP8THU, and went back to
receive, all that was heard were a bunch of "police". Never really did know
if VP8THU came back to me or not. In 35 years of hamming, I have never heard
anything this insane. VP8THU was running low power and using simple wire
antennas for their operation. South Sandwich would probably have been a
better DXpedition if it were not for all the lids, and especially the
"police". I still have UP .. UP .. ringing in my ears. No problems working
Gus Browning when he was QRV from the Indian Ocean, running low power, 419
signal into VE land, back in the late 60's. In those days, there were no
"police" lids guarding the frequency (or should I say QRMing the frequency).
