[Dx-qsl] 40m PIRATE 14/01/02 - DO NOT QSL

A station signing TR4VA was active on 40m last night. The frequency was
7009.3 up 1 with QSL via K1XX. Very good, fast hand sent morse and excellent
reading skills - a contest or military op. maybe?

Having spoken to K1XX, he has no knowledge of the station and is not the
Manager.

The frequency had been used by a KH0/ station and was taken over by another
operating at a high speed (similar to the TR) but not such good quality
sending! The style of operation was however very close to that used by the
CW station which has been causing QRM to several if not all DXpeditions in
recent months.
The callsigns P5A and ID1OT were used, the latter getting several QSOs! It
is probable that this same station is responsible for faking some recent DX
stations.

I would recommend that if you hear operations like this you should take
notes etc and ensure that these are brought to the attention of your local
monitors or enforcement authorities and the list, as many may think they
have worked a new one and spend time and money needlessly.

Best regards,
