[Dx-qsl] Rejected/Accepted DXpeditions

I can't imagine what those reasons would be. I recently had some email
exchanges with Bill at ARRL. I am getting ready to send in quite a few cards
for the DX Challenge/DeSoto Cup Award. I wanted that list for two reasons:
1. Why bother to submit cards which are not currently valid and 2. If the
only QS:L I have for a certain band country is not valid for ARRL awards
then I need to start looking for another station to work. The second of
these is, to me, more important. Bill's reply was " no list is available.
Send them in and let the computer decide". What reasons could the ARRL have
not making such information available? Steve, NN4T.

This is not a new idea, it has been discussed with the ARRL on many
occasions
in the past. They will not do it for reasons that they prefer to keep
private. If you ask them, they will tell you that there are just too many
operations to keep track of and update. With their limited personnel they
are
just not able to do it. Bob White was kind enough to go through the ARRL
thinking on this matter once when I wanted to write an article on it for our
local ham newsletter. IMHO they have valid reasons for not doing it
eventhough it does cause problems getting credit for some operations, but
then we've been living with that since the 1960's.
