Gentlemen and ladies

Please accept my apologies for the off topic, but I have a major problem
with my logging computer. It is a clone, running Win 98SE.

 Of late, it is losing up to three minutes a day on the clock. The battery
is new, but that shouldn't have an affect because it only does it while it's
running. Overnight, the time stays the same, but switch it on and check it
in an hour or so, and you are missing about 15+ seconds. It seems to be
getting worse.The local computer repair people says it seems impossible and
they haven't a clue.
