ACZ> While I was there I purchased some postage stamps that I used to send
ACZ> letters back to the U.S.A. I have many left over that I would like to use
ACZ> for receiving QSL's from Germany. They are marked 100 in large numbers (I
ACZ> suppose 100 DM) and also are marked 0,51 euro. How many of these should I
ACZ> place on a SAE for a German ham to be able to send me a QSL in a standard
ACZ> international size and light weight envelope?

Hi Alan,

a standard size (C6, slightly larger than american style) air-mail letter up to 20g
(about 2/3 oz) costs 1.53EUR, so you need 3 of your stamps on the envelope.
A surface letter, same size, cost 1.12EUR for destination outside Europe and 0.56EUR
inside.

ACZ> I am seeing all the flooding you are experiencing there in your beautiful
ACZ> country. I hope you, your family, and your home stays safe.

yes. It is a tragedy. Flooding in Czech Republic, Austria, now Saxony and coming to the northen
part of the country. It will cost billions (last estimation: at least
20 G$) to rebuild all the infrastructure, but this is not the worst
thing. All the people died last weeks...

I am not the one crying for donations, but if someone wants to help
our neighbours, there is an internation donation line on the home page
of German Red Cross: http://www.drk.de Any Euro, Dollar, Yen will
help us.
