       Something seems to have suddenly gone wrong at Hiroo's end.
       His system has always been - two IRCs - return same day; one
       IRC, a bit later. He is 100% reliable, although he does not collect
       cards himself.

       I had been planning a trip to XW in March, and my correspondence
       to both Hiroo (with name on envelope) and the XW PTT arrived without
       problems. Unfortunately I had to cancel the trip in favour of a visit
       to the local hospital.....I wrote to Hiroo two weeks ago and not yet 
had
       an acknowledgement.

       In view of all the flak, I will send an e-mail to him now and see what 
the
       problem is. I got a card from him myself last year by return of post.

       If I find anything out, will post it up.

       By the way, you all want to go to Vientiane some time; you will
       realise how lucky you all are. Laos is a flat broke country with
       no infrastructure, nice people, and pulling itsself up by the 
bootstraps
       after years of Communist rule. Puts card-collecting into perspective.
