I sent my request for XW=D8X out on 2002-03-05 with Hiro's name on the =
envelope and have yet to get a reply. On April 2nd, [email protected] =
had posted here that he received a response for a QSO on 2002-02-01 so =
it appears he had a 2 month turn around. I wrote to him and he said he =
did put Hiro's name on the envelope so it managed to get through. I'll =
continue to wait and see what happens since I am not at two months yet. =
It was interesting to note that on April 3rd, John Geiger posted to this =
forum that he received a card from XW=D8X with a three week turnaround. =
That is very impressive and would approximate the time I sent my card =
out.

While this contact and card are important for me as a new entity and the =
last zone I need for WAZ, I cannot see sending another card and 2 IRC's =
to help support the lifestyles postal workers in Laos since these would =
more than likely be stolen as well. If need be, I'll wait for another =
contact with operator that has an address that is reliable or wait to =
see if Hiro gets an address in a reliable country such as Japan. I =
noticed on QRZ.COM that he has an email address listed as =
[email protected]. I would be tempted to write him and ask him if he =
received my card but I am sure he gets alot of email and the last thing =
he needs is a QSL card query.

Robert, N2JTX

Subject: [Dx-qsl] XW0X

I sent a QSL with 2 IRCs and an SAE to the P O Box in Ventiane about two
months ago. No reply to date. After it was mailed, someone on this =
reflector
wrote that no name s/b on the envelope, only the P O box number and
city/country.

Since I need to try again, I need to know if this is correct. If anyone
knows, please reply direct instead of taking up the reflector.

Thanks

Tom Johnson
