Here's my delima. I have two DSP-10's, one is a complete kit and one was assembled by someone else, and it failed some years ago. Have been looking for a working dsp-10 with the amp for weak signal work. I'm physically disabled so have no possibility of trying to assemble the kit. What would you consider a reasonable price. I can offer $250.00 Thanks for your attention NG4C Connie On Fri, May 1, 2020 at 8:28 AM Mike GD6ICR wrote: > I have a complete machine including 10W amplifier kit - Since my XP > machine gave up the ghost 15 months ago I have not used it - I have it > available with all cables etc > > It has only ever been used as a monitor rig on 2m and transverting to > 23cm which of course required a low power input. There are instructions and an ISO file for running the DSP-10 under Puppy Linux as a work around. When you do this, the hard drive on the PC need never be used, at all, as this is one of a general class of "Live CDs." Also, the operating system, Puppy Linux, is completely independent of Windows. Lastly, you do not need to know a thing about Linux command line as a graphical screen is presented with an icon for the DSP-10 that you (single) click on. After that, it looks just like DOS. A complexity with the newest of PC/Laptops is the UEFI that replaces the old BIOS. Some of those don't like "Live CDs (or USB sticks)" and need convincing, an area that I am unfamiliar with. This Puppy ISO has the same requirements as any More info: http://www.janbob.com/electron/dsp10/dsp10.htm http://www.janbob.com/electron/dsp10/DSP-10_PuppyLinux.txt https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Extensible_Firmware_Interface I have used Puppy DSP-10 many time with success. Bob W7PUA PS-The Puppy/DSP-10 ISO is getting older and there are applications included, like Web Browsers, that are out of date. If you just ignore these, it is not a problem. If you open apps, they usually won't break, but you may get suggestions to update to the latest. Don't do that until you learn the basics of Puppy.
