I took Bob's advice and put up a medium gain beam at 1296, one of the
"WA5VJB Cheap Yagis" from the 2010 ARRL Handbook (p. 2.69 - 2.71).

Still haven't heard or worked anybody but myself on the band, but I'm
characterizing the system and listening on a horizontal outdoor
antenna now.

Does anyone have any idea how much 1296.1 activity I should expect
around the Los Angeles basin? The next project may be a DEMi preamp.
