[DSP-10] Problems with Serial Shift Registers.

Chuck, I am not sure if all is well with U107 and U108, but it sounds like
it is OK at least with with the 126 MHz PLL. And almost for sure, as Mike
says a problem with the 19.68 synthesizer. If it is just the latter, it
sure suggests a problem with SER_EN2 (PF6) since they share the clock and
data lines.

Possible help: In order to help with the P101 reversal problem, for the
EZKit only, not DSPx, in the software, the same signals that go to PF6 also
go to PF1. This means that if PF6 is burned out in the ADSP-2181, it may
be the only portion not working, and recovery comes from moving the
connection on the EZ-Kit board from P3-31 to P3-26. This requires the
version 3.2 of the UHF3 DSP software.

It is also possible to never again use pin 12 of P101. To do this run the
wire in the DSP-10 from the feed-through cap C211 to pin 6 of J101. Then
cut the trace between F114 and pin 12 of P101. Run a jumper from the pad
marked "6" on the very edge of the board, in the middle of P101, to the
cut-trace pad of F114. This added work will prevent damage to the EZ-Kit if
J101 is reversed and can be done on any DSP-10, as a safety feature.

Note that this modification may allow recovery for any EZ-Kit that has
had the 12V injection from the P101 reversal. I don't want to test this
feature, but I know one DSP-10 owner has been able to recover this way!

Good luck, and I hope you get it up and going quickly!
