[DSP-10] X101 crystal soldering

Just a quick note before heading off to the signal factory for the day.

Note that the PC software must be run on a DOS machine. Unfortunately, at
this time, this means a box running DOS, not windows. Example: Windows 98,
with DOS booted PRIOR to launching Windows 98 works. Launching a DOS box
from 98, 2000, XP, does NOT work. The UART's interrupt service routine
needs to not get trapped by windows.

Off to decode some signals.

(Note we're on the DSP-10 thread)

Roger,

Thanks. I did not think it made sense to do that, but I wanted to make sure.

I finally got back to spending some time on the DSP10. I have been enjoying
it. My main board is finished and tested. Everything looks good so far. I am

getting ready to wire up the DSP board.

I have been testing the DSP board (EZKIT Lite) stand alone. I can get all of

the example programs working and now I am trying to test it out with the PC
program (UHFA.EXE) like Bob explains in the QST article #2. I am using the
ADI EZKIT Lite loader. I can get the DSP program loaded onto the ezkit using

that program. However, it must run under windows. Then I reboot the PC and
startup in DOS (using a boot disk). When the program first comes up it does
not seem to allow any control through all of the keyboard functions. Most of

the controls do not do anything. I cannot even get it to toggle between
transmit and receive mode.

According to the QST article I should be able to run the audio processing on

an input into the ADC jack. However, I cannot get normal control from the PC

software.

Have you heard about anything like this? I read through all of the reflector

postings and did not see anything.

Well, I think it is time for bed. I will push forward again tomorrow night.

Take care!

Dave
