After more than five years of trying and 2-1/2 years of construction
(mostly in the last nine months) the DSP-10 is finally functioning here
at N5BF as a pretty reasonable all mode 2 meter QRPpp rig. The whole,
long and tortured story is told at

http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ejccool3/dsp10.html .

No "first QSO" yet, except for me talking to myself on an HT. Someone
will have to be awfully close or focussed to hear me on 20 mW to a
discone at 30 feet, still, it is possible. Maybe I'll send one of the
kids out to walk the dog with that HT and see how far FM QRPp will go.

(Yes, they all have licenses, see

http://www.remote.arrl.org/news/stories/2001/12/13/1/?nc=1#California )

What I'm really looking forward to is that first "real" QSO, on SSB or
CW. One of those would be a first for me in nearly 15 years. Any
satellites still transmit or receive on 2 meters?

Maybe I'll need the brickette for that. Back to the soldering iron.

Courtney
