[DSP-10] 10 mhz reference..

John,

We use GPS disciplined Rb oscillators all the time for the CDMA base stations we manufacture, in fact we use to use a whole lot of Ball Efratom Rubidium oscillators. Our customers still want Rb oscillators even though the crystal are just as accurate because when GPS is lost they can fly wheel much longer and stay in the network. You may find that the oscillator you have does have some electrical connection to discipline its frequency.

Subject: [DSP-10] 10 mhz reference..

I know a few of you are using the Brooks Shera Frequency standard
controller board with an hp 10544 or 10811a oscillator and I am
gathering parts to build one as well but with one slight change. On a
whim while in California this summer I picked up an Efratom Rubidium 10
MHz frequency standard ($200!). I don't have a manual or anything yet
however I know that it works. My thought was to somehow using the
Brooks Shera board to lock it to the gps 1pps.

Any thoughts as to how/if this might work?

Thanks

John Scherer
