[DSP-10] Starting Up My DSPx

Hi Paul, sorry for the delay. Pesky day job gets in the way.
(Ironically, I'm working on an SDR at work....)
Your line "It prints up quite a few FF's" is a little troubling
actually. I don't believe EZFAST should be doing this, if all is
successful.
I hate suggesting a distraction, but it might be good to check a few
smaller pieces prior to the full smoke test.
Bob has a couple of test programs UDIAG1 and UDIAG2, which can be
downloaded by EZFAST, or by the Windows-based loader. These would be
good things to try. Also, try to run EZFAST without the turbo-mode.
The turbo mode (whatever it is called) changes the PC's serial port to
run super-fast, for the bulk of the download. Although downloading the
program at 9600 is slower, it will help you to verify the link is
intact.
If you haven't checked out the PLL's with UDIAG2 and UDIAG3, this is
most-useful (and essential to proper operation of the DSP-10).
I have some notes on NW-HAM.net if you want to look at the PLL
procedure, or play with the windows-based loader. See
http://www.nwham.net/ka7exm/dsp10/index.html for more info.
I should check out everything on that dosbox application that the
discussion group was talking about.
Let me know if this helps out Paul.
Roger

Subject: Re: [DSP-10] Starting Up My DSPx
Thanks Roger,
I run ezfast 1 uhf3x.exe g It prints up quite a few FF's and then
says Loaded C:\DSP\UHF3X.EXE and Go at address 0
When I then run uhfa 1
It comes back with the following:
No uhfa.cfg present, using default values
Downloading DSP pointers...
Timeout error in obtaining DSP pointer table. Either UHF3.exe is prior
to 2.0 or DSP is not responding
I' using version v3.17 of uhfa.exe and a DSPx
Any ideas on how to check this problem?
Regards. Paul
