[DSP-10] Testing KDSP10/DSPx

I have finished soldering the KDSP10 unit. I connected it to my pc (Window 
XP) using serial cable and used HyperTerminal to test whether it can send 
message to terminal. But the terminal did not receive anything.

Is there anything wrong with my test?
Should I use a null modem cable instead?
Is there any other way that I can test the KDSP10?
