Hi all,
I've started a Project to write/port software for the DSP-10 to Linux at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-dsp-10/. The project homepage is at
http://dsp-10.leftfish.com. The homepage is not complete yet but the
framework is up.
The initial plan is to port the existing program UHFA to the Linux console.
I have a BGI library for Linux that may aid in this. The serial port I/O
routines would need to be rewritten for sure. I also have various Linux
tools to support ADSP-21xx development on Linux.
The long-term plan is to make use of hamlib, http://hamlib.sourceforge.net/.
Hamlib is a development effort to provide a consistent interface for
programmers wanting to incorporate radio control in their programs. A
"skeleton" driver has been written for the DSP-10 but that's it. Once
hamlib support has been implemented "front-end" applications for both
console and X-Windows could be written to support this radio.
If anyone would like to assist please let me know. Any experienced Linux
programmers are most welcome, however any help is welcome!
Presenently I am looking for the source for the latest version of UHFA. On
the DSP-10 site only version 2.02 source code exists. I also, any
documentation on the serial control API would be great. I've emailed Bob
Larken but never got a reply.
My kit just shipped from TAPR so I'll be very busy over the next several
weeks!
Thanks
John Scherer, KC0OIE
