Hello G�rard,

Yes, the cylinder case is different from the PCB pads.

Personally, I gently bent the leads to fit into the holes and soldered the
leads.  I allowed the cylinder to point up into the air.

I took a quick look at the Epson catalog.  You may wish to read page 4 as it
talks about being careful of the hermetic seal and glueing the cylinder
down.  I see on the PCB there is room to glue the cylinder down.  This might
be the best approach to keep stress from weaking the seal on the cylinder
over time and vibration.
