I have recently been working on a DSP widget that, among other things,
should support the DSP-10 as an alternative DSP engine to the old EZ-Kit
Lite.
I currently have a prototype PCB built and will be porting software to it in
the next couple of weeks.
It measures 1.0" x 1.8" in its current form, uses an ADSP-2185N and a TI
TMS320AIC23 codec, along with a FLASH memory chip for booting. The codec is
set up to be clocked at the same sample rate (48 kHz) used in the DSP-10, is
16 bits, etc. The DSP chip is architecturally the same ADSP-218x core as
the 2181, but is faster (up to 80 MHz) and lower power (runs on 1.8V and
3.3V).
Using this board will require modified setup configuration, and control of
the codec is handled differently. The TI chip requires a control interface
separate from the SPORT channel which passes A/D and D/A data.
Once the board is checked out and working, I plan to make it available to
the DSP-10 community if there is any interest. Should cost less than the
old price of the original EZ-Kit (target is under $80 in single qty, looks
do-able based on the current parts list).
