Try slowing the data transfer in the EZFAST Loader ....

Program usage:
  EZFAST [L or M] ComPort# FileName [T] [G [Addr]]

     L = Low speed load. Uses original 9600 Baud
     M = Medium speed load. Uses 57.6K Baud. May be needed
          with older UART's

So, to load at 9600 baud on COM1:

EZFAST L  1 UHF3.EXE G

If this works, try faster 57.6 KB by:

EZFAST M  1 UHF3.EXE G

This works for me with slow 3.5 FDD. No problems from HDD.
