[DSP-10] Key madness !!!!

Hi,

Playing with my DSP10 during tests I found out
some interesting keyboard particularities...
Not all key combinations work and some keys are
misplaced and someothers require 4 keys at the same time...

Yes... I'm not using an US keyboard,
(a Portuguese keyboard... that I never understood
why they were needed... but this is the only thing you can buy
over here uhg...)

This triggered up my idea of making some changes to the
interface myself, and would like to hear from the list if
this makes any sense.

The idea is:

We have two type of actions:
1- actions that need istantaneous response, by the touch of the
key (tuning, pwr level, AF gain etc)
2 - actions that dont need feedback response (changing mode
or changing filter, switching on/off parameters etc)

my idea is to make all actions that fall into category number
2 in a small command line, using english syntax as possible.
for example: to change to cw we type <enter>CW<enter>

This may not have the benefit of reducing the number of key
strokes in some commands but will solve the bizzarre
key combinations to do some things and will set the learning
time to near zero, and let non US keyboards work straight on.

in practical terms my idea was to have only F1 to F10 and
arrow keys, with the commands you need for category 1
(no other key combinations)
and to have all other in a command line that opens after you
press enter.

Does this make any sense ?
I would like to hear your comments.
