Hello Folks,

Well, here is my bit of Analogue Devices humor.

I placed an internet order on Saturday, the 9th, after Bob's post. A 2:43AM
time stamp this morning showed the same order number, but changed to $245.

I phoned, as suggested here, and ended up with voice mail and a boss or
three staff names to deal with - so I decided to simply cancel. I figured
with 4 people and several of you already giving them a story of some kind or
other, they'd immediately peg me as a BS'er.

I followed up an hour later with another call and Cliff answered. He had all
the answers about "why" before I asked any questions ! [Guess what the
office chatter must be this morning?]

We had a pleasant chat, about everything but the issue and he said my
cancellation was being worked on by the name that I recognized as the
"person in charge." I said NOTHING at all about the matter at hand. Based on
what the rest of you had said, I figured why bother?

A half hour later, the man I recognized as being in charge, based on the
voice mail protocol [Bob, maybe?] phoned and asked if he could ship at the
$89 price. I told him "Sure - it's only a hobby project - it's worth ninety
bucks to me, but not 250."

He said he understood and we parted friendly.

When I have a reason, I'll fight till the last man standing, but I truly
felt indifferent about this matter and as I said earlier, I didn't want to
obviously be "stringing them a line' and them KNOWING it
