Hi Roger,
Thanks for giving it a run! I think it is a mistake that they will catch,
probably on Monday. A week ago they had the price back to 89. Now they don't
list a price until you actually order it. The guy that has the final say on
pricing got to the "What don't you understand about 'no'!" phase. He does
not consider experimenters as part of his customer base, period. Students
are and they are continuing a student break (I think at $89). The
interesting part about the student deal is that you do NOT need to be a
registered student. It is the judgement of a person (not Mr. 'NO') if you
are a vaild student. I was told he/she might well approve a request from a
"student of life." I was told to advise everyone to apply for a student
discount! Several ADI people clearly are in disagreement about the pricing
issue and hunting for ways around the new policy!!
Good luck with getting the radio going. It would be fun to work you one of
these days.
