Hi Tim,

Replacing the blower on the L-4B is not brain surgery. It is easy to do
yourself. Be sure the caps in the PS are discharged by leaving the rig off
for 15 minutes or so. Disconnect the power supply from the power source.
Disconnect all the connectors on the rear panel and take the cover off. There
is no danger of shock since the power supply is disconnected and there are
no caps in the RF deck which will hold a charge. You will see how easy it
is. Rather replace the blower yourself than risk shipping the deck. You may
be able to fix the original blower once you have it removed from the deck.
Should you decide to ship it, do remove the tubes and chimneys and keep
them at home. Never ship the deck with those items in place. Doing so
invites disaster.

I have a noisy blower in my L4B, not the motor itself but the fan I think
touching the side of the amp case. I have a replacement blower if the
original cannot be fixed. I'd like to send the RF deck to someone along with the
second blower for repair, any recommendations as to who will do this
work or is there anyone out there doing this work?

Thanks Tim
