John -
No, I don't believe any Drake 4-Line gear ever came with BNC
connectors. However, I have seen quite a few with a BNC for the ANT
connector that was added 'aftermarket'. Amphenol offered a BNC
connector designed for single-hole mounting that would fit into the hole
provided for the RCA Phono jacks that Drake used. Seems like it was
3/8" dia and came with a lockwasher and nut. The ANT jack was often
damaged by those who insisted on attaching a piece of RG-8 with three
adapters right at the connector, which of course cracked the ceramic
insulator in the jack.
The SPARE 'hole' was on all the "B" models, not sure if there was ever
an intended use. The CC-1 VHF accessory requires two added connectors
on the T-4XB, and holes were also provided for them, but I don't think
there was any need in the R-4B. I guess it could have been used as an
IF output for a scope, etc.
