[Drake] Drake 2B dial cord.

I recently bought a Drake 2B off of ebay.  It needs some work, a real "fixer upper".  I noticed the dial cord may need to be replace very soon.  The 2B manual calls for .025"  dial cord but all I can find is .028".  I have heard stories that unless you get the right diameter dial cord, the cord will not fit in the "grooves" properly and won't funtion correctly.  Surely 3 milli-inches won't make that much difference!!!  Any info or comments would be appreciated.  I know this has probably been run around the table before.
