[Drake] TR4C crystal ID

Dick,

For 80m and 20m, the VFO signal bypass the premixer. For 40m, 15m, and 10m, the VFO and the crystal osc hetrodyne in the premixer.
40m uses a 21.5 mHz xtal, 15m uses a 35.5 Mhz xtal, and the 10m bands use 42.5, 43.0, and 43.6 MHz xtals. I'd have to open mine up (which I can't do right now) to tell their location in the xtal holder. (BTW, this is described in the theory of operation section of the manual if you need it for further reference).

Bill

I was not able to find a xtal xref chart in Garey's CD, nor in the
other information I have. Which xtals are for which bands (schematic
is confusing), it looks like 80M and 20M have no xtal.

What is the one next to the PTO? Wish I had a chassis top view parts
ID to refer to.

While I have your attention, I have read opposing views on the
orientation of an added PA fan. I usually direct the air 'IN' to the
compartment if the fan is strictly for the PA tubes. There is no room
for a fan on top due to my desk shelving so I always attach the fan to
the back.
